As usual with your posts Swarnali, there is so much for me to think about, nod my head to, smile at, feel seen and heard and understood by. But what I want to share is a some words that came to me a few days ago. The gist was a question, what if I started paying more attention to the “non lingual world” than I do to the human one? What would happen then? The question floats beneath the surface of my days now, in that beautiful silence. Thank you again. I’m amazed at how the words and the stillness float across continents. That we reach each other in this way. ❤️
Yes what indeed will happen if we pay more attention to the non-lingual world ? I want to explore that too. And the beauty of this curiosity is that this is such an open-ended question we pose to the cosmos, for all its magic and truth are hidden in the non-lingual layer. From the microbes in the soil to the subatomic particles of cosmic elements- the language of creation has always resided in silence. So it is ultimately the silence that will answer our genuine bafflement with existence rather than the sound.
So grateful that you see and understand Emily. It inherently means that we are tuning into the same mode of communication 💜
Yes and yes. And we, despite our capacity for speech (and all the other noisy ways we spend our time), also contain deep wells of silence. When we recognize/remember that then let it spread through us, we see and feel that we are part of that creating language. And then I wonder how important the questions really are, once we get a glimpse of what is. Thank you again:)
“contain deep wells of silence” you are truly touched by that well of silence and it’s evident in your language dear friend, how beautiful I am gonna carry that phrase in my heart for a while now. Thank you for such encompassing wisdom. It truly is a gift connecting with you. 💜
It's taking me a while to catch up with what I missed while I was away, and then with everything I missed while I was catching up with what I missed, then... And I wanted to make sure I could give this piece the times it deserved. I'm glad I did.
This piece had me in a trance, right there with you and your temporary menagerie.
It is always great to pause when we are busy and pick back reading in our own time - slowly and intentionally - stuff that people we admire write. Every one puts so much of themselves into their work. Thank you John, I hope you know that your presence and patient attention to my work means the world to me. 💜🕯️

Likewise, Swarnali. Such a gift.
